Hello, what have we here?  It's our ol' buddy Lyall Ford, running for council no less...

The classic Nebo hotel (Oxford Hotel???) in the middle of Nebo.

We found these familiar looking signs dotted along the Nebo Creek, looks like we'll be returning...

So we had a drink at the famous Nebo Pub...

Even the toilets were, well, excellent!

Mount Britton Trip (Part 6) - Cemetery and Gold Mine

So we looked back over the remains of the township & the Marling Spikes and said a fond farewell to Mount Britton.

As we left Mount Britton we took these pictures of the idyllic Oakey Creek.

Ah ha!  The cemetery, just the thing to round out the visit.

The final resting places of Albert Reckitt and Ernie Mills.

What a truly beautiful place to end up in...

...and so off to the gold mine.

To tell the truth, the mine was a little bit of a disappointment, the only thing visible was a five stamp battery, but after such a great day who could complain?

Mount Britton Trip (Part 5) - The Township

We returned to the "School of the Arts" building where they have some nice recreations of the township.
Like many old gold mining towns there was lots of left over bits and pieces.  I'm holding the top of what was probably a ginger bear bottle.

An interesting sign explaining the features surrounding Mount Britton (click on any of the images to expand.

There is a small group of mining equipment on display.
